Lots of research of this variety can lead only to impersonal records and cold facts. People want to learn more than their ancestors’ names; they’d like to learn a little about who they are. One great way to find out more about the lives of your forbearers, or other friends and family, is to check for wedding announcements in newspaper archives.

Wedding announcements are articles in newspapers that make note of upcoming weddings. Far from just the names of the bride and groom, these wedding records also provide interesting details into the lives of the people getting married.

Wedding announcements often include brief biographies of the couple, including where they’re from, the names of their parents and grand parents, their education and past achievements, and their future plans for place of residence and employment.

John F. Baker asked:

Reading cellular phone reviews before making a purchase on a new handset is very important, but it’s something that many people don’t take the time to do. Finding out what other people have to say about a product prior to purchasing it is just plain smart, and hopefully this article will help you do just that. So, if you’re getting ready to buy a new cell phone but haven’t done your research yet, this article is for you.

While there are many different places to go for cell phone reviews, there are 3 that I find myself constantly turning to first. Forums, blogs, and Amazon’s website.

The first place to look for mobile phone reviews is online forums. Discussion forums are often an excellent resource for choosing a cell phone as you’ll find many different opinions presented. Overall, this is my favorite spot for researching cell phone ratings and reviews.

The second spot where you can find cellular phone reviews is blogs. A weblog, or “blog”, is simply a web publishing platform that is easily updated with fresh information. There are many popular cell phone and technology blogs online that feature excellent reviews on today’s latest and greatest handsets.

The third place to go for mobile phone reviews is Amazon. Amazon has a huge base of customers who frequently post reviews after purchasing items. This feedback is very helpful in determining how good a handset really is, it’s upsides, and it’s downsides.

Hopefully this article has given you some good ideas for researching your next cellular phone. Remember, the biggest mistake you could make is purchasing your next phone without reading consumer ratings and reviews, so take a little bit of time and research your next purchase before making it. I guarantee that you’ll end up with a better phone at a better price because of it.

Cell Phone GPS: Head and Shoulders Above the Rest

May 30, 2008 by Steve Maclin · Leave a Comment

With GPS technology now more commonplace in many new cell phones, that means that the location of anyone carrying a compatible cell phone can be accurately tracked at any time. The GPS, or Global Positioning System, tracks your geographical location by interpreting data from 3 or more satellites.

Cell phone GPS can pinpoint the location of a cell phone within about five meters, which is up to ten times the accuracy given to us by triangulation. Cell phone GPS system tracking has been a part of the technology that makes of cell phones since 2005.

Locating someone is a popular job for a lot of detectives and cell phone GPS tracking is one thing that makes this task a lot easier.

Cell phone GPS tracking can also be a useful feature to the emergency medical service personnel or police officers when responding to a 911 call from a GPS cell phone.

Picture the scene of a roadside accident where injuries have occurred. Cell phone GPS tracking is also a boon to the police force and emergency medical service technicians when they respond to emergency calls from a GPS mobile phone. Such calls are known as E911 calls, and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has legislated that wireless (cell phone) networks provide location information for 911 calls made by their cell phone subscribers.

Cell phone GPS tracking can therefore be a useful feature for business owners and fleet managers who need to be able to keep track of their vehicles’ movements. Cell phone GPS tracking capabilities can even show you the shortest possible way to get to a given destination.

Nokia can definitely see the future profit flow from GPS location based services and would be correct to assume that profit growth will shift to these mobile services from hardware. The Company makes a range of mobile devices with services and software that enable people to experience music, navigation, video, television, imaging, games, business mobility and more. Nokia also provides equipment, solutions and services for communications networks through Nokia Siemens Networks.

These phones are absolutely amazing and imagine a commercial showing the things you can do with Nokia’s GPS Beta Software (supplied for free by their website).
