Since so many others already have, and because it has personal privacy overtones, I thought it’d be worthwhile to raise the question of whether or not the Republican VP Nominee’s (Sarah Palin’s) personal background should or should not be a matter of public concern/ scrutiny.
To elaborate on what has already become a dominant factor in today’s news, Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska, has been recently nominated by Senator John McCain to be his Vice President. Upon accepting the nomination, the press came to find (amongst other things) that Palin’s youngest son has Down syndrome and her 17-year old daughter is pregnant.
Initial questions have been raised with regard to her ability to juggle a family of 5, while sitting in a post that could (if the 72 year old McCain were, unfortunately, to become incapacitated) render her as President of the United States.
