Some of you might wonder what junk faxes have to do with a site devoted to cell phone lookups, but let’s not forget that there are several different things that can be accomplished over telephone lines — one of which is sending unsolicited faxes to unsuspecting individuals. That’s where this post comes in. I’ve written about this in a previous post, but for now, I’d just like to ask you a few questions.
Do you hate answering the phone or voicemail and hearing a fax tone? Do you hate getting disturbed at 5am (or all night) by fax calls (even if you don’t even have a fax machine)? Do you hate having your ink, paper, and fax machine being used by people who are breaking the law? Do you want to put a stop to this? Keep reading.
The Federal law passed in 1991 known as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) makes it illegal to send any material transmitted via facsimile that advertises the commercial availability or quality of any property, goods, or services that is transmitted to any person without that person’s prior express invitation or permission.
So, if they send you COMMERCIAL ADVERTISING by fax without your prior consent, they may be liable. Political statements and fundraising faxes are treated differently (go figure).
If the fax was deliberately sent to you (as most junk faxes are), federal law entitles you to recover a minimum of $500 and, depending the judge’s discretion, up to $1,500 for each such fax that you receive. Many people get $2,500 per fax in small claims court (also see TCPA Law for briefs and research that win legal cases).
Background
The TCPA and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules generally prohibit most unsolicited facsimile (fax) advertisements. In addition, the Junk Fax Prevention Act, passed by Congress in 2005, directs the FCC to amend its rules adopted pursuant to the TCPA regarding fax advertising. The FCC’s revised rules: (1) codify an established business relationship (EBR) exemption to the prohibition on sending unsolicited fax advertisements; (2) define EBR for unsolicited fax advertisements; (3) require the sender of fax advertisements to provide specified notice and contact information on the fax that allows recipients to “opt-out” of any future faxes from the sender; and (4) specify the circumstances under which a request to “opt-out” complies with the Act.

How to Stop Automated Calls from Stalker Fax Machines
June 3, 2008 by Leticia · Leave a Comment
Are you one of those thousands of people who, like me, have been getting regular calls (cell phone, land line or otherwise) from an unknown number . . . and when you answer the phone, you hear a series of beeps indicating that it’it’s a fax machine trying to send a fax??
I’ve been bothered by this company (which comes up on my caller i.d. as “Premier Global”) for the past month or so. Usually, I get a couple calls every workday, between 10AM and noon, and every time I answer, it’s a fax machine trying to send a fax!
I knew I couldn’t be the only one! So, I ran a search on Google to see who these people were and what could be done about these obnoxious calls.
One of the first things I noticed was that, when you type in their phone number (702-366-0961), Google informs you that there are upwards of 54,400 pages on the internet listing that specific phone number!
That in mind, I won’t bore you with lengthy details. I’ll cut to the chase by saying that the company apparently operates under a variety of different names (RWESOURCE AUTO SALES was one that came up along with Premiere Global, Xpedite Systems, Inc.). I also found that they were not alone in pestering people at their homes/ businesses . . . far from it.
Here is a really brief list of the phones that have been used to make automated calls from “stalker” fax machines:
——————————————–
562-289-8172
stop this cell phone spam!!! everyday for the last 3 months
800-821-2507
Called both mine and my wife’s cell phone and left half a message to call the number back and so i called it back blocked and they answered and I asked for someone else and they asked …
800-279-3480
I have been receiving calls now for over a month on my cell phone. When I pick up, the recording says to hold for an important message. I have done that several times. When someone …
786-312-1683
It keeps calling me it won’t leave me alone
866-619-5495
please take me number off this call list
903-463-5014
Called while I was at work. When I called back, it just rung and there was a funny clicking noise.
641-715-3900
i pick up the phone but no answer..
602-274-2304
i keep recieving calls from this number .. it is annoying
Can’t these people be stopped? The phone has not stopped ringing all morning (April 23, 2008)..
Caller ID: 702-366-0961
Caller Type: Fax Machine
I’ve gotten calls from these worthless ameoebas seems like forever. I don’t get what their point is. I would *NEVER* buy, beg, steal, or have anything to do with anything remotely connected to them. If I was drowning and they were the only number left on earth I would NOT call them. If they were drowning, I’d stand there and laugh.
Caller ID: Premiere Global
Caller: Premiere Global
Caller Type: Fax Machine

So, again, I’m not alone in this and apparently neither is Premier Global, so you could be receiving calls from a host of other different companies as well. But, back to the point at hand: How to Stop these Calls.
Here is what you need to do to get Premiere Global, Xpedite Systems, Inc., and any other names they go by to stop calling your phone. First, call 1-866-849-3243. This connects to an automated operator; I called it and it works. They will ask if you want to have your phone number de-listed, so that they will no longer place calls to your phone. They will tell you (automatically) which phone you’re calling from, so they know that up front.
The process takes about one business day, it’s automated and like I said, they do go by several names and numbers, so it’s possible you may use this technique even if you’ve been hassled by another phone number.
Another approach: If you’re registered with DoNotCall.gov (if not, you should be), you call go to their website and register a complaint against the offending company, using whatever information you have. Another great site that helps to stop junk faxes is JunkFax.org.
I know these calls can be pretty bothersome, and whenever I come across info that could help our visitors, I’ll pass it on! Do what you can to help — leave a comment
How can i get a list of background check companies to send my expungment papers to?
December 13, 2007 by Leticia · 3 Comments
I have a criminal record that is 7 years old. It has since been expunged/sealed. I need to fax that information to background check companies so they can update their records
7 years ago i had a misdemeanor placed on my criminal record. I know that you can legally deny it but the background check still shows it. I had my record expunged. But it still shows up. That is why i need the list so i can have them update their records.
