Many applicants may lie on their application about their educational background when they feel that it will never be checked. Many employers may hire an applicant who has lied about their educational background assuming that they have completed college. This becomes a complicated issue since the employer just assumes that the application is correct because it is a legal document, but unfortunately as long as people are willing to commit perjury while under oath at a court of law there will always be people that make themselves seem more qualified for the position then they really are.
As an employer it is important that not only are you applicants free of any type of criminal record, but that they are also qualified for the position of which they are applying for. Would you rather have an employee who has completed a bachelor’s degree or an employee that said they did. Picking out those who are willing to lie is just like weeding out criminals from your business.
For any business, whether the applicant is a liar or thief, they cannot really be relied on to be an asset to the company. It is for this reason that it is so important to do Free background checks on your perspective applicants. The last thing anyone wants is someone who says they have a bachelor’s degree but in reality does not even have a high school diploma.
Do yourself and your company a favor and check the information on your applicants resume ensuring that it is the truth. Remember, you have never even met these applicants to know enough about them to trust that their information is accurate. After you weed out your applicants with a criminal record background check, take the remaining applications and run their educational background information to ensure that they will be a trustworthy employee and an asset to your business.
Having educated employees, regardless as to what major it is, means that an employee is more likely to go all the way for your company. They can set goals and achieve them. Unfortunately, sometimes you may find that although an applicant has graduated, their grades may not be accurate on their application. Since the position may not require a bachelor’s degree any employer would prefer to hire the applicant with the highest GPA. You can easily obtain this information from a Free background check.
