The web is vibrant and advanced, but, with the use of our computers, we can achieve so much from our own living rooms.

From acquiring endless info on any given subject, to tracing people we have lost touch with long ago — there are just so many things we used to do at a moment’s notice, that we would dread doing nowadays, after being exposed to the Internet. Our computers have made it all so convenient.

We shop at home, we do our banking online (I know I do), we order food online, we read books online, and we even send notices electronically.

There’s not even a reason to pick up the phone if you have Instant Messenger (IM). We live in a world made simple by computers and cyberspace. But, just how much of our information is floating around on the internet?

Some suggest they only used peer-to-peer (P2P) clients because they are safer. However, the following video blows away that whole idea by showing how easy it is to waltz right on into someone’s Shareaza client.

To take matters further, about a year ago, I wanted to get in touch with a friend from college.

I hadn’t seen him for more than few years (not wanting to reveal my age!), and apparently lost his email address. That’s always a bummer. No worries.

Mostly anybody can resort to tracing people on their personal computer. Some websites even offer a free search option at first. I took full advantage of this. I was able to locate his most current address. Now, just to be clear, this process can be a bit tedious if your subject has a very common name such as Michael Johnson. Many of these will pop up. If you know their middle initial, use it.

Anyway, this process of tracing people on the web proved handy and effective for me. This got me to thinking. How easy can we all find out so much about one another? This is a down-side to the Internet. I don’t know that I want everyone having so much access. Anyone with a computer and Internet access can find me, as long as they have my first and last name.

You can even obtain online services that will really help you with this process. From reverse addresses, to social security numbers, to current phone numbers; it all can be found. So how safe are we from the criminals of the world?

I won’t dispute that tracing people online is convenient and sometimes a helpful service. But, take a look at most websites you visit. They’re tracing cell phones on a regular basis. That’s why ads pertaining to your current location constantly pop up. They have your IP address. Yes indeed, the Internet is helpful, but it’s also harmful in ways . . .

“Trace cell number” is the command many telephone companies used to receive in response to their customer’s efforts to stop annoying and harassing prank calls.

Being able to trace cell number is important because you’re not going to learn much from your Caller ID service, since most prank callers use an unlisted number– but by using ReversePhoneDetective.com, you can trace phone calls and stop prank callers dead in their tracks.

There are multiple ways to trace cell number, but they are not all equal…

Trace Cell Number Through Your Phone Company

One way to trace phone calls is by using a service provided by the majority of telephone providers. The service, known as Cell Trace, is easy to use. When you receive a prank call, you immediately hang up on the caller. After a minute, pick the receiver back up to make sure the line is clear (you’ll hear the dial tone again), then press *57.

Most phone providers will give you instructions, but the important thing is the provider will find the number that called you. Generally, to trace phone calls, the service costs around $5 each time you use it, although some providers set a maximum monthly charge.

While convenient, this service has serious disadvantages. For one, you have to receive several prank calls from the same number before action will be taken. Qwest, for example, will not do anything until you’ve traced the number three times. That means if you’re dealing with a halfway intelligent pranker, he or she is just going to keep switching phones.

Another weakness is that the number or name of the caller won’t be given to you. Even though the prankster has violated your privacy and the peacefulness of your home, the telephone provider is not allowed to violate their privacy by letting you know who the culprit is. If the calls persist, the provider will turn over the information to the police but never to you.

Sometimes, the phone company will go further and will provide another method to trace phone calls. This method is Time Synchro Tracking. The telephone provider gives you a clock that is synched up with their clocks. Then, when you receive the prank call, you stop the clock and contact the phone company.

With the exact time of the call, they can use their computer to track down who made the call. You’ll probably only get them to provide this service if you’re having a serious pranking problem - and you’re willing to pay for it.

Trace Phone Calls Using ReversePhoneDetective.com

If none of those methods to trace phone calls impresses you, then try the following. Telephone companies offer another service known as Last call return. When you get a call, you can hit *69 and you’ll get the last number that called your phone. You can then use reverse phone Detective to track down the caller and his or her address.

Another reason that using ReversePhoneDetective.com to trace phone calls is that you can find out more about the prank caller– ReversePhoneDetective.com gives you access to public records, expanded databases, background check resources and more. If the person harassing you is up to no good, you can finally put a stop to it PERMANENTLY!

To run a trace for any phone number and quickly and easily stop an annoying prank caller, just type in the phone number below, and hit “search now” to run your trace! It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
